ways to slow the sun

In reading I have been wondering….

How can I deepen my understanding of what I have
read through applying my own ideas to the story.

I read the story…..Maui slowed the sun

It was about…..one day Maui and his four
brothers went to get some flakes to make a
rope to slow the sun

Than they went to the sun were they were sleeping

Then the brothers and Maui was hiding in the
rocks to throw the ropes around the sun then
Maui jumped on to the sun and hit the sun with is
hook and the sun said way are you hurting
me because you are going to fast then the
sun felt sad so than on the sun went slowly
around the earth.     

We then had to create a contraption
to help Maui slowed  the sun

This was my idea…. We put a big crane with the huge
chain and a helicopter with a chain.

I chose to do this because…. Because i think it is cool to do it.
